As Afghanistan’s first center dedicated to supporting recovery for young male survivors of trafficking and sexual abuse, the Forgotten No More (FNM) Boys’ Shelter in Kabul was established by Hagar in 2013 in response to our 2013 research study findings, which identified major gaps in services for boys who had experienced extreme abuse.

Serving boys between the ages of 12-18, FNM provides them with a comprehensive range of services including residential care, psychosocial care, healthcare, legal services, educational services, vocational training, recreational activities, family tracing, and reintegration services. The boys are referred to FNM by our key partners in various organizations and government ministries.

So far in 2019, FNM has reached 579 direct beneficiaries and 4053 indirect beneficiaries through 24 training workshops conducted for the police, Child Protection Action Network (CPAN), and the general public on combating human trafficking, children rights, and the Trafficking in Persons (TiP) law.

In appreciation of Hagar’s FNM Boys’ Shelter, we are honored to share that Afghanistan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) recently issued a letter of gratitude to Hagar for providing crucial social services support to boy survivors.

Hagar pursues the highest degree of care and protection for each of its clients. To protect the identity of our clients, names have been changed and images do not necessarily represent the individual profiled.
