“My name is Parwana, and I am from Takhar province. My family and I left Takhar for Kabul due to financial and safety reasons. I completed my bachelor’s degree there in the month the new government came into power. Now there are limited work opportunities for an inexperienced person like me. I struggled a lot looking for a job and could not find one. Also, because of the economic status of Afghanistan, my family members, who were the breadwinners of our house, lost their jobs or received low pay due to low demand for their work.

I was thrilled when Hagar listed me as a beneficiary of its RLL project and introduced us to the wool threading company. I have a little sister with a severe illness who needs a lot of medication and regular check-ups. Due to our limited finances, we had not been able to get her medication for three months, resulting in her deteriorating health condition.

When I received my first salary, I purchased a one-month medicine dose for her. She is now recovering and is relatively healthier than before. I thank Hagar from the bottom of my heart, for giving me the opportunity to stand on my feet and take care of my sick sister.”

Hagar pursues the highest degree of care and protection for each of its clients. To protect the identity of our clients, names have been changed and images do not necessarily represent the individual profiled.
